This would include commercials, print work and independent films. Don’t wait for someone to call you, follow the casting calls. Google Keywords “Casting Calls” and try to find some in your home town or ones that do “virtual audition”. Submit to everything even if it doesn’t sound like you but you think they could “keep you on file”. Ignore people saying that it will just annoy casting places. Casting sole purpose is to constantly “discover” people.

Tips & Warnings:
- If you sign up with a big agent or manager and you are no one expect to get scraps of the big studio production/films. (Small Roles)
- Its good to get breakdowns from websites that everyone uses but the good stuff will be from the agent breakdowns which hardly is shown to the basic actor.
- Avoid the pre-madonna/ego attitude because it will get you no where.
- Invest in headshots, demo reels, postcards and marketing on your image.
- Don’t feel that you have to do anything, you still have a choice as a person to not submit yourself to certain roles as an actor. Don’t give in to anyone if they are telling you to get naked on camera if you don’t feel its right for you.
- Don’t believe anyone that says they can get you into commercials or films because they will have a secret motive.
- You should never go alone to an audition that is very far away or at a house address.
- Don’t believe anyone who “name drops” saying they know so and so or are best friends with them. Even if you see them have a lunch together doesn’t mean they have good relationships with that person. This only means they like to use people to get ahead in the industry.
- Famous people can’t help you become famous unless you sleep with them and put it on the internet.
- Don’t look desperate when marketing yourself, ask other established actors to review your publicity or marketing strategies.
